Courtney has a younger sister Jennifer who is a marketing executive. She was a student at Menlo-Atherton High school located in Atherton California. She then completed her studies at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley California in the year 1985. While in high school she was also a member of The Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley.
